Description:

Silk Road Rising is seeking six Middle Eastern actresses (three principal, three understudies) for the world premiere of Twice, Thrice, Frice... by Fouad Teymour and directed by Patrizia Acerra.

In this 90-minute comedy, three Muslim women confront adultery and polygamy when one of their husbands marries a second wife. Friendship, fidelity, and faith are called into question as each woman reevaluates bonds once believed unbreakable, and discover humor amongst the heartbreak.

Seeking:
Amira, F, late 30s, Iraqi American. Liberal. Romantic. Adopting a more modern ideology. Married. She is a real estate agent and a visual artist (painter). She checks her phone frequently when expecting real estate business. She is outwardly strong, but is internally troubled by something she cannot pinpoint. She downplays the importance of her and her husband being childless.

Khadija, F, Mid-Forties, Palestinian American. Conservative. Married. She has a bit of an accent, and has trouble with grammar and big words. Her p's come out as light b's. Note: Accent and diction are only specifically noted for certain words. It is assumed that actor will adopt her own interpretation of the accent. She loosely wears a scarf over her head when warranted, but is not a strict Hijab woman.

Samara, F, early 30s, Egyptian American. Adherent conservative. Single. She was orphaned young. She wears a veil in the presence of men. She speaks perfect English with no accent. Modernized in certain aspects, but has rigid stances when religion is involved.

Pay: AEA is $259 a week (CAT1), Non-AEA is $150 a week, and Non-AEA Understudy is $75 a week.

Previews (and additional tech time): 9/30/19 - 10/11/19
Press Opening: 10/12/19
