Description:

Auditions for Bard in the Burbs' upcoming production of Shakespeare's As You Like It, directed by Ken Kaden & Sean Ogren, are set for Sunday, February 17th from 6pm to 10pm, with callbacks on Monday, February 18th @ 7pm at Stacey De & Company, 1946 University Lane, Lisle, IL 60532.

The part of Rosalind has been cast.
The following roles are available for color-blind casting:

Orlando (male) - 20-30, the good-hearted and compassionate son of Sir Rowland de Boys. Under his brother's neglectful care, has languished without proper education or training, but still believes in his own potential. He flees to the forest to avoid being murdered by his brother Oliver. Pines for Rosalind.

Oliver (male) - 20-40, eldest son of Sir Rowland de Boys. Hates his young brother, Orlando. He is reformed by the end of the play, and even finds love.

Adam (male) - 50-80, former servant of Sir Rowland de Boys. Accompanies young master Orlando to the forest. He is a model of loyalty and devoted service.

Celia (female) - 20-35, the daughter of Duke Frederick and Rosalind's dearest friend. She risks her own safety and family security by accompanying Rosalind into the forest. She has a loving heart, good humor, and is prone to deep, sometimes excessive emotions.

Duke Senior (male) - 40-70, the banished Duke and father of Rosalind. He lives in exile in the forest with a number of loyal men. Kind and fair-minded, he finds the good in his exile and the freedom of court corruption.

Jaques (male) - 30-70, while a quick witted and shrewd observer, he is also hopelessly melancholy. He is one of the lords who accompanies Duke Senior into exile.

Lord Amiens (male) - 30-70, a faithful lord who accompanies Duke Senior into the forest. Must be able to carry a tune. Playing a stringed instrument (such as a guitar, ukulele, lute, etc.) would be beneficial but is not required.

Silvius (male) - 20s, an endearing young shepherd desperately in love with Phoebe

Phoebe (female) - 20-35, a young shepherdess with a sarcastic edge who disdains the affections of Silvius. While dismissing Silvius, she falls in love with Ganymede, who is really Rosalind in disguise.

Audrey (female) - any age, a sassy, but simpleminded goatherd who agrees to marry Touchstone despite the fact that the she understands very little of what he says

Le Beau (male) - 20-35, a humorous, gossipy courtier in Frederick's court. He is well-versed in doing what is right.

Sir Oliver Martext (male) - any age, a country vicar who is not considered to do his job well
