Pride Films & Plays (PFP) is seeking submissions from female-identified and non-binary actors for the upcoming U.S. premiere of Emma Donoghue's I KNOW MY OWN HEART, to be directed by Elizabeth Swanson. This is a Jeff-eligible production.

About the play:
Inspired by the secret coded diaries of Yorkshire gentlewoman Anne Lister, the play subverts all conventions of Regency romance. Teasing out the entangled lives of Lister (nicknamed 'Gentleman Jack') and three of her many lovers, I KNOW MY OWN HEART explores the different choices women make in a time of limits and prohibitions.

Seeking:
Anne Lister, a Yorkshire heir-in-waiting (open ethnicity, late 20s-30s).
Marianne Brown, a farmer's child (open ethnicity, 20s). Nancy Brown, a farmer's child, Marianne's younger sibling (open ethnicity, 20s).
Isabella 'Tib' Norcliffe, a person of independent means (open ethnicity, late 20s-30s).

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals begin mid-November 2017.
Previews: January 10, 11, 12 at 7:30pm.
Press Opening: January 13 at 3:30pm.
Regular Run: January 17 - February 10 with Thursday-Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 3:30pm.
Additional performance: Wednesday, January 30 at 7:30pm.
