Description:

Inspired by Miguel de Cervantes' seventeenth-century masterpiece Don Quixote, MAN OF LA MANCHA is one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history. Powerful, brutal, hilarious, and heartbreaking, the play-within-a-play structure of MAN OF LA MANCHA celebrates the perseverance of the human spirit, and focuses on those who refuse to surrender their ideals and passions. Looking to the original creation of the piece (and the allegory of persecution and racism gripping the world at the time), our production seeks to cast an even more inclusive net, by focusing on the state of dogmatic and class persecutions throughout the ages. With the book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion, and music by Mitch Leigh, this celebrated work boasts a score that includes "The Impossible Dream," "I, Don Quixote," "Dulcinea," "I Really Like Him," and "To Each His Dulcinea."

We are, especially, seeking actors who play musical instruments (guitar, recorder, concertina, etc), which will be used to further connect the characters to the genuine musicality of the story. Don't worry if you don't play an instrument, it is not a requirement. It is merely a bonus. We STRONGLY encourage people of ALL gender identities, racial backgrounds, ages, and walks of life to audition, as we feel the more inclusive the art, the more wholly the story of the human condition can be told.
