NEVERLAND chronicles the final days of Peter Pan's utopia. When Wendy, an Avondale teenager, becomes the newest addition to the Lost, Peter's band of runaway teens from different decades, her spirit and her sense infuse Neverland with a new energy and a way of thinking they've never encountered. Disrupting Peter Pan and Captain Hook's never-ending rivalry, Wendy forces Neverland's figures to confront the reality of what they've become. The journey from childhood to adulthood has never been so treacherous than in this "Peter Pan" in the era of Trump's America.

OPEN ROLES:
Peter Pan - 20's, from the Victorian era, has been young for several hundred years, charming, intelligent, has a powerful self mythology and sensitive ego; has a codependent relationship with Tinkerbell

Captain Hook - 30's, she/her/hers, originally from an era long before the Victorian; Peter Pan's ex best friend and business partner, was once a teenager of Neverland but grew up when she realized her idealized kingdom was impossible, tattoo'd, worldly, embraces herself as a flawed and complicated human, has a complex relationship with femininity

The Lost - 20's, Seeking 7 Humans, Teenagers from various eras, continents, and societies of history; The Lost were all led to Neverland by either Peter Pan or Captain Hook in a moment of peril or desperation; All have struggled to varying degrees with how to strip themselves of their old moral codes & values and how to truly be "Of Neverland"; forgetting everything to build this new world together; The Lost are a ragtag team; They also need to be able to come together and physically transform the space. For example: becoming all the stars in the sky; suddenly forming a bridge; The Lost will create cinematic image work within the show; The Lost is Neverland and Neverland is the Lost. Movement experience is a must.

Spring 2019 Show
"Behold, A Pale Horse"
Directed by Gina Marie Hayes
Devised by The Ensemble
When you're lost in the woods, who helps you find your way? When you change forms, who will recognize you? "Behold, a Pale Horse" is an immersive experience taking audiences along on the final journey of the last Unicorn in the world. Mistaken for a white mare, transformed into a human by a bumbling magician, she wanders the woods searching for someone who will recognize her for what she really is. Featuring live covers of Johnny Cash, Smashing Pumpkins, and Kenny Loggins (among others), "Behold, a Pale Horse" is a joyful, tragic, raucous celebration of queer loneliness.

OPEN ROLES:
The Unicorn- Ethereal, reserved, feminine, independent, cold. Searching for others like her.

The Magician- Bumbling, blustery, with an overconfidence born of deep insecurity. Yearns for greatness.

The Prince- A blank affability due to inexperience; if he was an emoji he'd be the shrugging person. In love with the Unicorn, and willing to do great heroic feats to win her affection.

The King- Haggard. Miserly. Nihilistic. Cannot find happiness in himself, so he entraps those he thinks might make him happy.

The Maid- Has her guard up. Hardened by disappointment. Secretly a nurturer. Desperate for miracles.

The Butterfly- A poet and a medieval minstrel. A bit scattered. The audience's guide on the journey. Also may play a variety of characters including a carnival mistress, townsfolk, other unicorns, and a talking skull. All performers must sing and/or play an instrument.
