Description:

Comfort Stew-In a story of a missing child-taken from the evening news- a community of women confront a harsh reality. They journey through a night of memory and hope, while a woman makes her comfort stew. A collaboration between legendary Chicago poet, playwright and novelist Angela Jackson and Chicago's dynamic actor, director and writer Cheryl Lynn Bruce.

Need: 4 African American female actors ages early 40s -20s and 1 African American male age early 40s.

Breakdown:
Hillary Robinson Clay-Black woman, mid-30s, dry wit, self-reliant and gentle.

Alfreda Robinson- Black woman, early 40s. She is a spirit, quick, and wise. Also plays a little girl, Enjoli.

Sojourner Clay-Black girl-woman, 19 years old, has charm and intensity.

Jake (Jacob) Sunnyside-Blackman, early 40s, storyteller, loyal, tender, smart with restless edge. A good cop.

Patrice Rodgers-Black girl-woman, 19 years old, lost, thin, keen.

Rehearsals: Begin March 13, 2018
Show opens: April 13, 2018
