Corn Productions is ready with new sketches, new songs, and some new talent! Vagina Melodies is back for it's third run! Vagina Melodies is a musical sketch comedy show that is filled with musical parodies from all genres and original songs all showcasing views of womyn, femme, and LQBTQ+ experiences and is hosted by the one and only Rosie The Riveter! While most of the pieces will be comedic, there may be a few darker tones to some, but Vagina Melodies is a sketch comedy show. This will be a ensemble piece.
We are seeking those with strong acting and musical abilities as well as open-mindedness and comedic timing.
All are welcomed to audition. Especially seeking African and Asian applicants as well as those who identify as LGBTQ+ and non-binary.
This show will be directed by Deanna DeMay and Ross Christian
Auditions will be held at Corn Productions, 3210 N Lincoln Ave.
Rehearsals start January 6th until February 14th on weekends and Mon, Tues, Wed evenings depending on actor availability. Shows run Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm from February 15th to closing on March Friday, March 16th with two Sunday performances on February 18th and February 25th at 6pm.
Please prepare one comedic monologue, not to exceed 1 minute and 16 bars of your favorite song to be sung a Capella. Song choice should suit your range and style and can be from any genre of music.
