Village Theatre Guild
Stella and Lou

Pay: No Pay

Description:

Village Theatre Guild is holding auditions for Stella and Lou.

Play Synopsis
It's late Friday night at Lou's Bar when Stella drops in for her customary nightcap. What transpires provides a moving exploration of love and loss in relation to friends, family, and marriage. How much are we willing to risk, and how much is it worth? "Stella and Lou" examines these questions with tremendous heart, humor, and above all, hope.

Roles:
Lou - 50's. Long time proprietor of Lou's neighborhood bar. Good natured and generous, but closed off and suffering from loss. Stuck in a rut and resistant to change.

Stella - 50's. Frequent customer at Lou's Bar. Divorced mother and ER nurse. Practical and down-to-earth. Strong, hardworking and caring, but has reached burn-out. Ready for a change. Good sense of humor (must have good comedic timing).

Donnie - Late 20's - early 30's. Slightly overweight. Regular patron of Lou's Bar. Having cold feet about marrying his live-in girlfriend. Depends on Lou for advice.

Time Commitment:

Performances will be January 19 - February 10, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, Sunday & Saturday matinees at 3 pm.

Material To Prepare:

The auditions will consist of readings from the play itself. No appointments are necessary and head shots/resumes are helpful, but not required. Please bring all conflicts to audition.
