You think the number of reviews of Sun Times went down- take a look at TimeOut, they are lucky to publish one review a week. Seems like traditional publication reviews are dropping while the number of blogs that have reviews is increasing... anyone with a blog can be a critic these days.

Years ago there was just the main publications but with the number of blogs/review sites these days there are a few dozen reviews on each show which might be hurting the bigger pubs and may be a reason why they are scaling back. Why pay a writer for a review when there are a ton of people that write reviews for free. Reviews no longer bring people to the newspapers when the newspapers are no longer the only place you can read about a show.
