Vigils is the story of a Widow living with the Body and Soul of her husband who died in a fire. The Widow trapped the Soul on its way to heaven and put it in a box at the foot of her bed. For two years, the Widow and both parts of her dead husband rolled around in piles of sweaters, relived old memories, and played Marco Polo, but today, today is different. The Widow is going on a date for the first time since her husband's death. The Neighborhood explores this play, which travels quickly through memory and time, using simple and essential storytelling devices: a bed sheet, a picture frame, and some paper flowers.
