"...If we’re going to tell intimate stories of tribulation, let’s really dig into them. Give audiences a full scene of a credible fearful interview between an immigration officer and an asylum-seeking mom. Allow us a chance to see the interaction not just from the side of the problematic officer. Let audiences see how harmful the process is. Parcel out monologues along with dialogue. Give us moments to really sink our teeth into. Play devil’s advocate at times, sure, but show us the pro-birthers protesting at clinics with more authenticity. "

In the past, Ms Proudfoot has presented some provocative, very exciting plays set in both the past, present and even the future. But none of them are as important, or speak to women about contemporary issues, as this important play. Definitely not a holiday entertainment, this is a thoughtful play that should be seen by everyone, women and men. It’s a presentation that fully examines the issues that continue to unfold in America today. And it truly shares the stories of so many women and amplifies every divergent voice."

"...OK, they’re all women’s issues, all relevant, vital women’s issues, but the name of the play is TITLE X, not “Women’s Issues”. Disappointing – and a damned shame, as everyone’s work is absolutely stellar. McNulty and Cheng are brilliant, slipping into disparate characters as easily as changing Jessica VanWinkle’s *she/her excellent costumes. Charlotte Lastrashe/her multi-tasks well as Set & Props Designer and Stage Manager. I’ve already praised Ben F. Locke’s *he/his casting. Lighting and Projections Designer Sam Stephen *th/th makes the most of their interesting role, using lights and projected images to further define each of the disparate characters."
