"Hear ye, Hear ye...Prince Wellington is seeking a bride." All the princesses in the land are lining up to be the first to pass the "Princess Test". But the Prince has a different idea; for he has fallen in love with an ordinary young maiden who found her way to the steps of the palace. Can this common girl pass the test? Will the oh-so persnickety Queen allow her to win? Will a tiny pea and a stack of mattresses stand between her and true love? Find out in this new musical based on the classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

Around The Town Chicago - Highly Recommended

"...Theater for young audiences! That is the name that Marriott Theatre has chosen for its “children’s Theater Program” and I for one like it. These are shows that have stories most children are familiar with but now they get to see it live, on a stage with music. In addition to having a wonderful hour of fun, they are in many ways being trained to enjoy live theater. They learn to be quiet, unwrap their candy, turn off their I-whatever? and of course to be neighborly and respect those who are sitting around them. This will be important in adulthood. I wish that more theater audiences has had this training decades ago."

Chicagoland Musical Theatre - Highly Recommended

"...The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences never fails to provide its patrons with new and entertaining adaptations of classic fairy tales. These shows make the perfect date for you and the little ones you love. The Princess and the Pea, with music written by Marc Robin, book and lyrics by Rick Boynton and additional lyrics by Curt Dale Clark and Marc Robin, is the Marriott's current production, its latest in a fine line of hour-long (give or take) children's productions."

"...Directed and choreographed by Aaron Thielen with music direction by Patti Garwood, the show is a delightful, updated romp through a classic fairytale whose moral for youngsters now, is "to write your own story.""
