The Pajama Game Reviews

"...TATC greatness has been its willingness to bring in talent of all creed and color, breaking down any barrier to bring in first-rate talent on a budget that I’m sure can’t compete with the likes of Chicago theaters. Bannister, as Sid, is an example of TATC finding great talent. Bannister theatrical, operatic voice is smooth, polished, and exceptional; which sets the tone of excitement for the audience. Elizabeth Telford returns to TATC as Babe. She brings an absolute essence of joy and spirit to the role that makes Bannister and Telford work."

"...Back in the 1950's a book was written by Richard Bissell that opened up many eyes to the unions versus management situation in America. The book title , "7 1/2 Cents".. Mr. Bissell's book was based on his own experiences working with his own family in their pajama factory in Iowa. This book inspired the musical, "The Pajama Game" with Broadway writer George Abbott and Bissell creating the new "book" and music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. In 1954 it hit the stage in New York and in 1957 was recaptured on film with almost the entire Broadway cast . This is truly a classic musical that is not done often in our area. I think the last two times were 2017 and 2013."
Chicago Theatre Review- Highly Recommended
"...Linda Fortunato has beautifully staged this charming, retro love story that supports the old adage that opposites often attract. The show also offers a reminder of the importance of American unions, while offering a pleasurable stroll down a memory lane of musical hits. Possibly one of the finest productions in recent memory at Theatre at the Center, this gifted cast and company delivers a wonderfully entertaining evening for Autumn that’s as cozy as a pair of warm jammies and definitely not a sleeper."

"...If you don’t go see The Pajama Game at The Theatre at the Center for any other reason, go to hear the booming tenor voice of the hunky lead, Curtis Bannister."
