Chicago Reader - Highly Recommended

"...The colorful, neighborly, boozy upstairs stage at Mary's Attic presents a tricky catch-22 here, where the atmosphere and vibe feel perfectly conducive for kitschy sketch fun, but the sound system is clearly more suited for MaryOke-Karaoke than an entire ensemble cast wearing face mikes. But once Jones and Cerda start pulling faces and chewing scenery in the grand and glamorous Charles Busch tradition, it's hard to mind. Madison Smith's witty and irreverent production also serves as an impressive showcase of young comedic talent, including Alexa Castelvecchi, Katy Campbell, and Graham Heacock in costumer Gregory Graham's jaw-droppingly fishy drag."

"...With no end in sight, the creatively unstoppable David Cerda continues to entertain Chicago audiences with his unconventional, often preposterous plays and musicals. This holiday installment is a gut-busting, inventive and provocatively racy musical parody that’s exactly what Windy City audiences have been craving. In his mashup of two deliciously camp television shows, Chef Cerda has cooked up a delectable Halloween entertainment, filled with unexpected tricks, deliciously devilish treats, delightful musical ditties, joyous jack-o’-lanterns, haunted hilarity and more fun than toilet-papering your neighbor’s house."

"...I won't go too deep into the plotline because that's half the fun of a NEW Hell in a Handbag spoof! I like to just let the twists and turns unfold and surprise you as they wash over your brain with unexpected humor and joy. Highly recommended for old and NEW fans of Hell in a Handbag's productions at Mary's Attic where you can relax in an intimate yet lively and rowdy theater environment, have dinner or drinks and just let the comedic memories of the shows they revive and also make fun of - energize your heart with laughter for the future!"

"...In short, this show is a breezy good time and a great centerpiece to a night out in Andersonville. Take advantage of the bar at the back of the performance space, afterwards head downstairs to Hamburger Mary's or else to one of the other great bars and restaurants on that stretch of Clark Street, and you've got the makings for a pretty solid date night."

"...The Facts of Life - Satan's School for Girls knows exactly what it is: a confection of fake-blood-drenched silliness just in time for Halloween season. By capturing the original characters and adding a healthy dose of camp, Handbag's latest production does just what it's supposed to: delight."
