SWEEP

SWEEP

The Greenhouse Theater Center
2257 N Lincoln Avenue Chicago

Georgina Escobar's SWEEP is a play inspired by sci-fi graphic novels, the Bible, humanity and the unbridled imagination of a child. A finalist for the 2016 National Latino Playwriting Award, it's a hilarious and beautiful look at the world, taking gentle pokes at human, family, genetic and world history with a (broom?) stick. Escobar asks you to feel rather than think, to experience rather than listen, and to believe in magic. SWEEP is a graphic novel brought to life on stage, examining religion, gender roles and the choices we make in everyday life. It's also about a magic broom. Get swept up in the magic at Greenhouse Theater Center in Chicago.
