Cabaret ZaZou closing in Chicago

Cabaret ZaZou, a critically acclaimed dinner circus type show that has been a staple in Chicago's Loop for several years, is set to close on July 2, 2023. The immersive variety dining experience, which has been playing at the Cambria Hotel, is known for its unique blend of live music, comedy, and cirque-style performances, all taking place in an intimate cabaret-style setting within an elaborate Spiegeltent.

The show, directed by Dreya Weber features an international cast of multi-talented performers, including dancers, acrobats, circus artists, singers, and musicians. The audience favorites, Frank Ferrante and LiV Warfield, have been leading the show, engaging the audience in an intimate setting just feet away. The audience was served dinner by Blue Plate Catering while the show was going on, adding to the immersive experience.

The current production has been highly recommended by multiple reviewers, with praise for its dazzling array of performances, sultry atmosphere, and the unique blend of circus disciplines with a Chicago-style cabaret. The show has been described as a vibrant spectacle, with entertainment taking place throughout the audience, as well as on the central stage.

By the time the final curtain comes down, producers expect to have performed before 40,000 audience members at more than 200 performances. Despite the closure, producers are hopeful that the venue will reopen later in the year, either as Cabaret ZaZou or a similar concept. There are currently no immediate plans to repurpose the venue.

Tickets for Cabaret ZaZou's final performances at the Cambria Hotel are currently on sale, with the producers encouraging Chicagoans to revisit this unique experience or even see it for the first time in the remaining weeks.
