Aladdin returns to Chicago
Disney's Aladdin is coming back to Chicago for a limited time from May 17 - 28! This Tony-winning musical adaptation of the classic animated film is sure to be a hit. ALADDIN, the renowned musical inspired by the Academy Award-winning animation movie, opened on Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre to rave reviews on March 20, 2014 and quickly established itself as one of the biggest successes. In total, it has welcomed over 16 million spectators in nine productions spanning four continents, with a UK tour set to open later on this year. Moreover, the Broadway production just reached its 3,000th show and is now part of the Top 20 long-running shows on Broadway.
ALADDIN, produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, has music composed by Tony Award and eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Sister Act), lyrics written by two-time Oscar winner Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid), three-time Tony Award and three-time Oscar winner Tim Rice (Evita, Aida), and a book penned by six-time Tony Award nominee Chad Beguelin (The Prom, The Wedding Singer). It is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon).
