An affair between an upper class woman and a household servant captures the power dynamics of the U.S. and Latin America in Miss Julia. Based on August Strindberg's much-revived 19th-century drama, this bilingual production for the DESTINOS Chicago International Latino Theater Festival sets the action in Colombia for a timely effect. And the whole evening will transport you south of the border as you sip rum and delight your taste buds with salsa while enjoying live traditional Colombian folk music. Jhon Alex Toro, of the Oscar-nominated film Maria Full of Grace, stars in this clash of cultures at Steppenwolf's 1700 Theatre.
