El Grande De Coca-Cola Reviews
Chicago Reader- Somewhat Recommended
"...What this oddball play from Waterfront Cafe & Summer Stages finally amounts to, then-not counting the yummy taco dinner beforehand for full-price attendees-is just over an hour's worth of ironic dysfunction and broken scenes from a talent show gone haywire. At its worst the flubbed bits simply pile up, with not a comedic button in sight. But then there's the hanger-on Juan Rodriguez, played by Richard Gomez, whose giddy pratfalls and big goofy mouth perpetually agape dominate the show's best scenes. Whenever he's on, the cringe factor subsides and the piece becomes what it was meant to be: a low-stakes romp for funsies."

"...El Grande de Coca-Cola essentially is a one-trick pony, so the one-hour running time is about right for this sort of fluff, and the intimate lakefront locale is ideal. Kick back with a rum-and-Coke and enjoy."
Around The Town Chicago- Highly Recommended
"...If you're looking for ambiance with your theater experience, then the Waterfront Cafe & Summer Stages' production of "El Grande de Coca-Cola" is the show for you. In addition to an uproariously funny slapstick comedy - which would be all you'd get at any other venue - you'll get delicious food and the beauty of the lakefront before the show. Add "El Grande de Coca-Cola" to your must-see list."
