1st Rehearsal: Aug. 14, 2023
Written by Agatha Christie
Directed by Scott Westerman

Show Description: Brimming with intrigue, sophisticated humor and surprising twists, Agatha Christie's iconic murder mystery is the world's most successful and longest-running play. Amidst news of a murder in London, seven strangers find themselves snowed in at a remote country guesthouse. When police arrive, they discover - to their horror - that a killer is in their midst!

Character Breakdown:
While the character descriptions are limited to binary pronouns, we encourage all gender identities to submit for the roles with which they most identify.

Mollie Ralston - Female; Age 20s to early 30s. New owner/hostess of Monkswell Manor; anxious about hosting the inn's first guests; married to Giles for one year.

Giles Ralston - Male; Age 20s to early 30s. Owns Monkswell Manor with his wife Mollie; somewhat arrogant and jealous of the other guests' attentions toward Mollie.

Christopher Wren - Male; Age 20s to 30s. The first guest to arrive at the hotel, Wren is a hyperactive young man who acts in a very peculiar manner. Wren claims to have been named after the architect of the same name by his parents.

Mrs. Boyle - Female; Age 40s to 60s. Mrs. Boyle is an imposing woman in a bad temper; she complains about everything. She is disapproving of every effort that Mollie and Giles produce to make her comfortable.

Major Metcalf - Male; Age 40s to 60s. Major Metcalf is middle-aged, squareshouldered, military in manner and bearing. He is friendly and very polite, and serves as a good counter to Mrs. Boyle during the play's first act.

Miss Casewell - Female; Age 20s to 30s. A strange, aloof, somewhat masculine woman who speaks offhandedly about the horrific experiences of her childhood.

Mr. Paravicini - Male; Age 30s to 50s. A man of unknown provenance who turns up claiming his car has overturned in a snowdrift. He appears to be affecting a foreign accent and artificially aged with make-up.

Sgt. Trotter - Male; Age late 20s to early 40s. Detective Sergeant Trotter is a cheerful, common-place man who arrives at the guest house on skis to investigate a local murder.

Radio Announcer - Voice only; reads BBC News reports on local murder.

Show Description: Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don't see eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves... and all the twists and turns along the way!

Character Breakdown:
Seeking: Actors of any gender, age, race and ability to play the roles in She Loves Me. Please submit for the role or roles you most connect with, regardless of the role's "traditional" look or sound.

Amalia Balash - (Character age: 20s to late-30s) An eager new employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Amalia is a confident and skilled sales person, but easily becomes intimidated and nervous, especially when it comes to "dear friend". A sunny, strong person and a lover of literature.

Illona Ritter - (Character age: 20 and late-30s) Ilona is employed at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Ilona is confident in her body and power over potential romantic partners. Ilona is learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love.

Georg Novak - (Character age: 20 and late-30s). An established employee of Maraczek's Parfumerie who takes the work at Maraczek's very seriously. Georg is softened only by "dear friend". Georg is a bit of a shy, hopeless romantic with a harsh edge that shows itself when pressed.

Steven Kodaly - (Character age: 20 and late-30s.) A well respected and liked employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Though Kodaly is considered dapper and occasionally charming, Kodaly is quite obsessed with optics and is overly confident regarding his perceived "power" over potential romantic partners.

Ladislav Sipos - (Character age: 40+) Not the brightest employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, Sipos is an optimistic, lover of family who goes to extreme lengths to avoid stirring the pot.

Maraczek - (Character Age: 40+) The owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie. With a commanding presence, Maraczek's dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife. He is not scroogeish but he is extra hard on Georg, his head clerk.

Arpad Laszlo - (Character is a teenager) Works at Maraczek's Parfumerie doing deliveries. Arpad's exuberance is infectious. Arpad is deeply committed to Maraczek's. Arpad is ambitious and frankly, adorable.vr` Ensemble - To play shop customers, Head Waiter, Keller, carolers and dining guests...vr` Eleanor's Very Merry Christmas Wish [TYA]
