Madison Hemings: Male. Black. 40s- 60s. Son of Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson. He is a practical-minded man hungry for validation. He is charming, has a wry sense of humor, and thinks he knows everything there is to know.

Israel Jefferson: [THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST] Male. Black. 40s-60s. Former enslaved footman to Thomas Jefferson. Patient, methodical and spiritual. He communes with the dead on a regular basis.
