Comedy Dance Chicago (CDC) is a group of comedians and dancers who combine sketch comedy, physical comedy, dance, word play, and music to entertain our audiences of all ages. Our show has been described as a "super high-energy laugh riot!" and "one of the funniest, most enjoyable hours you'll spend on a Friday night."

Submissions Due Date: Friday, February 3rd, 2023 at MIDNIGHT
Audition Date & Time: Saturday February 11th, 2023 between 10am-2pm
Audition Location: Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture (Dance Chicago studios)

Who should audition? CDC is looking to increase representation across the board. All skin colors, body types, gender identities, sexualities, backgrounds, personalities, senses of humor, ages (18+) are welcome to audition.

Roles to cast:

Sketch Comedians/Comedic Actors with solid dance background:
-trained in theater, sketch comedy, improvisation, circus, clowning, etc.
-strong stage presence, comedic timing, facial expressions
-experience in multiple types of dance (modern, tap, jazz, hip hop, etc).
-sketch writing experience

Dancers with solid comedic timing:
-trained in modern, tap, jazz, hip hop, etc.
-strong stage presence, comedic timing, facial expressions
-able to quickly pick up choreography
-choreographing experience

Other requirements:
-comfortable interacting with audience members of all ages
-collaborative and a team player
-strong work ethic and positive attitude

Bonus Skills:
-singing, partner lifting, playing an instrument, anything else you have to offer

Additional information:
Rehearsals: Thursdays, 7-9pm (in general; extra rehearsals scheduled as needed)
Rehearsal Location: Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture (Dance Chicago studios)
Show locations: Chicago, Schaumburg, and the surrounding suburbs
Show dates and times: throughout the year, as scheduled (daytime and evening)
Show types: Short appearances (5-10 min), abbreviated shows (20-30 min), full shows (60-75 min)
Pay: Both paid and unpaid performances

STEP 1: Familiarize yourself with CDC's style and purpose - visit

STEP 2: Submit headshot and resume to by Saturday February 3rd, 2023 at 11:59pm. Subject line should read: "[Your Full Name] Submission" i.e. "Sarah Martin Submission"

STEP 3: CDC will review all submissions. Due to an overwhelming response in past years, we may not be able to see everyone in person. Wait to hear if you are offered an in-person audition slot.
