Blank Theatre Company is seeking actors to submit for their production of She Loves Me with Book by Joe Masteroff, Music by Jerry Bock and Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. This production will be Directed by Blank Theatre's co-artistic director Danny Kapinos with music direction by Aaron Kaplan and choreography by Tori James.
Auditions by appointment will be held Sunday, December 5th from 12:00-6:00pm and Monday, December 6th from 7:00-10:00pm at Unity Lutheran Church. The space is located at 212 W Balmoral Ave, Chicago, IL 60640.
Callbacks will be held by individual appointment on Saturday, December 18th and Sunday, December 19th from 12:00-4:00pm at the same location.
This production will be performed at The Reginald Vaughn Theatre (formerly the Frontier), 1106 W. Thorndale. There is a $150 stipend for this production. This production is Jeff Eligible. As per the Chicago theatre standards we are disclosing that actors are expected to help with strike.

Amalia Balash - mid-20s to mid-30s - The newest member of the team at Mr Maraczek's Parfumerie. A headstrong go-getter who has difficulty accepting her vulnerable side. Always diplomatic but unafraid to stand up for her dignity. (C4 - B5)
Georg Nowack - mid-20s to mid-30s - Mr. Maraczek's long-trusted second-in-command. Unwaveringly loyal, but anxious to move up the ladder. Realizing his demure side isn't getting him anywhere, he is ready to put his foot down when he needs to. (B2 - F4)
Ilona Ritter - mid-20s to mid-30s - Another member of Mr. Maraczek's team. She is ready to settle down romantically but finds herself continually drawn to men only interested in short-term flings (F#3 - E5)
Steven Kodaly - mid-20s to mid-30s - A clerk at Mr Maraczek's store. Eager for a promotion and always looking for a quick romantic fling, he ruthlessly pursues what he wants and doesn't care who he leaves in his wake. (B2 - G4)
Zoltan Maraczek - mid-50s to late-60s - The owner of the Parfumerie. A conscientious, caring boss who is deeply concerned about the welfare of his small business and his employees. He takes his work extremely seriously and sometimes neglects caring for himself as a result. (B2 - C4)
Ladislav Sipos - 30s to 40s - Another clerk at Mr Maraczek's Parfumerie. He has a wife and children he supports; he likes to keep his work life and his private life separate and strives not to rock the boat. (A2 - E4) - This Role is Cast. Seeking Understudy only.
Arpad Laszlo - 18+ to play teenager - The youngest and newest member or the team, he is eager to impress his coworkers and curious as to why everyone around him behaves in such peculiar ways. (Bb2 - E4)
Ensemble - any age - three versatile performers to play several roles, primarily customers of the Parfumerie.
This production will utilize both internal and external understudies for all roles.
Note: Although the show presents characters who are traditionally presented as white, cis-gendered, and non-disabled, we are excited to work with actors who do not necessarily identify with all of the above. Our casting seeks to be as inclusive as possible and we invite gender non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender, and non-binary actors to submit for the roles they are most interested in being seen for.
We will also list race/ethnicity when specific to the character but are otherwise seeking all races and ethnicities. In addition, we will list disability when specific to a character, but otherwise, we are seeking actors with disabilities, as well as non-disabled actors for all roles. Covid policy - You must bring proof of vaccination with you to your audition. We will not be hiring any unvaccinated artists, and we will turn away auditions without proof of vaccination. Everyone behind the table is fully vaccinated and will be wearing masks during auditions.
