Description:

Congo Square Theatre is looking for actors to join the ensemble of What to Send Up When It Goes Down by Alesha Harris. Co-directed by Ericka Ratcliff & Daniel Bryant. Described by the writer as a "A play. A pageant. A ritual. A homegoing celebration"; Congo Square seeks to collaborate with multi hyphenated artists. Experience in movement, musical ability (singing or playing instruments) is a plus but not necessary. Please note that the ensemble plays multiple roles. The goal of this production is to mourn, heal & celebrate the many lives stolen from us by the injustice of racialized violence. Its going down. Come send it up with us.

Pay: $330 per week

Time Commitment:

Rehearsal Dates/Times: February 28-March 18, 2022, (Rehearsals to be held Tuesday-Saturday 12p-6p OR 11a-5p, Sundays TBD)
First Rehearsal: March 1, 2022
Tech/Dress Rehearsals: March 21-23, 2022
Previews: March 24-26, 2022
Performance Dates: March 31-May 8, 2022 (please note that the performances will occur in two separate locations for 3 weeks each; we will also not be performing on April 17th in light of the Easter Holiday)
Number of Performances: 5 performances weekly (Thurs eve, Fri eve, Sat mat, Sat eve, Sun mat) 10 Weeks.
