First Floor Theater
The Secretaries

Pay: Yes

First Floor Theatre is holding auditions via Self Tape Submissions for our World Premiere production of The Secretaries by Omer Abbas Salem, Directed by Laura Alcala Baker.

Content Warning: The Secretaries contains Nazi imagery, violent language, and graphic images on suicide which may be upsetting to some people. It is our priority in the development and production process to handle these subjects with the greatest of consideration and care for the production team, actors, theatre staff, and audiences.

A fight choreographer will be hired for this production.

Per Covid safety rules, all cast and crew must be vaccinated and show proof of such before attending callbacks and beginning rehearsals. Additionally, all audiences must show vaccination cards and be masked the entire performance.

Hannah- 30+ Any race. Femme. She is constantly lost in daydream. An inherently kind person who is too afraid to question authority. She is smart but na´ve and learns quickly.

Helga- 30+ Any race. Femme. She is a matriarch and knows how to decide things. Decisions don't always need to be based on expertise but it does help if they are made confidently. She always comes in hot and at a ten. She has been with Hitler the longest and knows the most.

In reference to the character descriptions above-most characters we encounter currently are on the binary and are written with he/him or she/her pronouns. But however limiting the descriptions are, our casting seeks to be as inclusive as possible and we invite gender non-conforming, genderqueer, transgender and non-binary actors to submit for the roles they are most interested in being seen for.

We will also list race/ethnicity when specific to the character but are otherwise seeking all races and ethnicities. In addition, we will list disability when specific to a character, but are otherwise seeking actors with disabilities as well as non-disabled actors for all roles.
