Towle Theater seeks strong singer/actors 21 years old and up for its upcoming World Premiere Musical Night Tide music by Nathania Wibowo, book & lyrics by Taylor Tash. Authors will be attending performances. All ethnicities strongly encouraged to audition. Performance Dates are July 10-12, 17-19, 24-26, 2020. All rehearsals and performances will take place at the Towle Theater in Hammond, IN.

Material to Prepare:
We are asking that you submit a Video Audition. Ideally, we request you submit a 32-bar cutting of 2 contrasting musical theater pieces that showcase your vocal range and the style of the show. If you can create something that would be preferred. If not, we would ask that you NOT submit something that is more than 12 months old, so we have a pretty good idea how you sound and look now. The video should be shot with full body visible rather than an up-close head-shot style Facetime or Skype feel, so we get as close to an actual audition as possible. Even if you are proficient in piano and vocals, we want to see you perform with an "onstage feel" rather than a "behind the piano" feel. And that we would love for their audition to be accompanied, if that's possible. Perhaps make an accompaniment recording rather than accompanying yourself live.
You may submit through April 15, so that we can assess and have a round of virtual call-backs the weekend that would have been auditions.

Show Description:
Night Tide, a new musical inspired by the 1961 mystery-thriller B movie, tells the kitschy and compelling tale of Johnny Drake, a lonely Naval sailor. As he enjoys his first shore leave exploring the boardwalks, tiki bars, and beach parties of a spooky seaside town, Johnny meets Mora, a seductive and mysterious young woman who works in the sideshow as a mermaid. Johnny immediately becomes smitten with Mora, but soon discovers that she may in fact be a real siren of the sea, and she may have lured her previous boyfriends to their watery graves...
