Looking for womxn directors for PUNCHING LABUTE VOL.2. Womxn of color and womxn of the lgbtq+ community strongly encouraged to apply.
Punching LaBute will be a show consisting of work that metaphorically punches misogyny in the face. It's about womxn flipping problematic work (like Neil LaBute's) on its head, and reclaiming the narrative. The one night show will be comprised of 6 - 10 scripts. If chosen, you would be assigned one of the scripts and direct that one piece.
Rehearsals will be decided upon by you and your cast with the only mandatory dates below:
Location of auditions, tech, and the show: The Lincoln Loft, Chicago IL
Date of Auditions: Saturday April 25th, 2020 from 3-6pm
Date of Tech: June 6th, 2020
Date of Show: June 8th, 2020
It will also be the directors responsibility to secure rehearsal locations. We recommend Chicago Public Library meeting rooms and Next Door Chicago on Diversey. Plan your rehearsals and book the spaces asap as spaces do fill up!

Currently, this show is completely volunteer based with all ticket donations going to a local charity. Last show, we raised over a hundred dollars for Connections for Abused Women and their Children - a non profit committed to ending domestic violence.
