9 to 5: The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the 1980 hit movie starring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, and Dolly Parton. Set in the late 1970s, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. This is a hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. While their boss, Mr. Hart, remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?
There are many roles available for all genders. This is a non-Equity production; no pay. If cast, there is a $30 deposit for scripts/materials.
Audition Information
Auditions will be held by appointment on Friday, April 17 (7:15-9:45pm) and Saturday, April 18 (3:15-5:45pm). Callbacks will be held by invitation only on Saturday, April 25 in the late afternoon.
All auditions and callbacks will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Palatine, 800 E. Palatine Rd, Palatine, IL.
Rehearsals begin the week of June 8th will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings (7-10pm) as well as Saturday afternoons (12-3pm) in Palatine.
Tech rehearsals will be held August 3rd through August 6th (evening/late) at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center in Palatine. Attendance at all tech rehearsals is mandatory.
The show runs for 6 performances: Fridays (evening), Saturdays (evening), and Sundays (matinee) from August 7th through August 16th. All performances are at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center in Palatine.
