Description:

Pride Films & Plays (PFP) is seeking an understudy for the role of Dex in DEX & ABBY, a contemporary play by Allan Baker. Dex and Abby are two dogs whose owners, Corey and Sean, have taken their relationship to the next level by moving in together. We see the ups and downs of their relationship through the eyes of their beloved pets, who have their own journey of getting to know one another. This humorous and heartwarming play pays tribute to the furry companions with whom we share our lives. Directed by Daniel Washelesky.

In addition to memorizing lines, understudies are expected to attend at least one rehearsal per week and at least one performance per week once the show opens.

Seeking:
Dex - Male. Dog. 13. Played by a male or non-binary human, 30s-50s (age flexible). This role requires extensive physical movement.

Actors of all genders, ethnicities, abilities, body types, etc., are encouraged to apply.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals: January 6-February 9, 2020 (Sun and Mon 10am-2pm, Tues 2-6pm, Fri 6-10pm)
Tech: February 10-19
Performances are Thursday-Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2:30.
Previews: February 20-23
Opening: February 24
Closing: March 29

Material To Prepare:

1-2 monologues totaling no more than 3 minutes.
