Improv Playhouse Theatre for Young Audiences department is holding auditions for its upcoming spring touring productions of The Giver and The Boy Who Cried Wolf.

The Giver is a touring adaptation of the classic novel by Lois Lowry. This play will tour to various middle schools in the greater Chicago area. We are looking for 6 actors (over the age of 18) to fill all of the roles.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf is all new original adaptation of the classic fable. This is a musical adaptation that will tour to various schools, libraries, and child care centers in Spring 2020. We are looking for 4 actors (over the age of 18) to fill all of the roles in this production.

Seeking actors of all ethnicities, diversities, gender identities, body types, and abilities.

Audition Location/Time:
January 30, 2020. 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM at About Face Theatre (5252 N Broadway St, Chicago, IL 60640)

Time Commitment:

Each show will rehearse throughout the month of February. The rehearsals are primarily during the day, so daytime availability is a must. Schedules will be made based on actor availability. Each tour will begin in March and end in May, shows are scattered daytime performances throughout those months.

Material To Prepare:

Please prepare a one minute contemporary monologue. If you would also like to be considered for The Boy Who Cried Wolf please prepare 32 bars of a song that showcases your voice. There will not be an accompanist provided at the audition, however if you have any portable instruments you would like to bring to accompany yourself, this is highly encouraged.
