Description: A love story. A magical, time-travelling fight for life. A celebration of those rarely celebrated.
In the words of the playwright, "This play, at its core is about who we are when we are stripped down to nothing but heart, body mind and soul." That's magic, but it's never easy.
Characters:
Venus - A queer Black woman, a spirit, a child, literal force of nature, any age
Luc - A queer Black man, a comedian and a musician, 18-25
Felix - A queer Black man, a poet and a painter, 18-25
Auditions will be held at Edge Theatre, 5451 N Broadway Ave.
Rehearsals:1/20 - 2/20
Show Run: 2/20 - 3/15
Sides will be emailed beforehand, + 16bars of a soul/gospel/r&b melody (with or without lyrics, a real song or an improvised melody)
This is a play with music, movement, poetry, painting, and room for more. We'd love to see any special talent you'd like to show us.
