The Riverfront Playhouse, 11-13 S. Water St. Mall, Aurora, IL, will hold
auditions for its next production,"Daddies," a play by Douglas Gower, on
Sunday, October 13 and Tuesday, October 15 at 7pm.
The cast consists of two men, both of whom should appear to be in their late
30s or early 40s.
"Daddies" is described by director Gary Puckett as a "comic drama" which
takes place during the Christmas season. The story revolves around George,
who has been living with a woman who is divorced with two small children
and Carl, the biological father of the children. The play takes place during
the Christmas season.
"Both of these men are struggling to be the best father that they can be,"
says Puckett. "In addition, the play deals, in a comical way, with the
struggles of fathers everywhere during the holidays. The play demonstrates
the truth of the old gag - that Christmas is once again 'at our throats.' "
