Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP) will be holding auditions for its 2020 season and is seeking non-union actors for its three unique touring programs: Montana Shakes!, Shakespeare in the Parks, and Shakespeare in the Schools. AUDITION DATES/TIMES Montana Shakespeare in the Parks will be holding auditions in CHICAGO on Monday, November 4 (2:15pm-9:15pm) and Tuesday, November 5 (2:15pm-9:15pm). Callbacks will be on Friday, November 8 (3:00pm-9:00pm). To be considered for an audition, please email your headshot and resume, and please include a teaching resume if you have one, to msipproductionmanager@gmail.com by October 21, 2019. We will accept taped audition pieces. You may post your audition to YouTube and provide us with a link. Live auditions are always preferable. The deadline for videoed applications is Friday, November 1, 2019 and decisions on hiring will take place following live auditions.

Auditions should include two contrasting Shakespeare monologues- and should not exceed 3 minutes total.

Ability to play musical instruments and/or sing is highly desired. Our Shakes and Schools tours are particularly interested in hiring actors with teaching experience and those with interest and ability to be effective teaching artists as well as actors.

If you are selected for an audition, please bring two headshots, two acting resumes, two copies of your teaching resume (if you have one), and an instrument (no ukulele or piano) if you plan to add this to your audition (still not to exceed 3 minutes).

ABOUT MONTANA SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARKS' PROGRAMS
Shakespeare in the Parks (in its 48th season) employs 10 actors for a 15-week summer season that includes rehearsals and a multi-state tour in Montana, northern Wyoming, Eastern Idaho, western North Dakota and eastern Washington. Two plays rehearse for five weeks starting in late May and then tour the region for a ten-week period ending in early September. The 2020 season will present Cymbeline directed by MSIP Executive Artistic Director Kevin Asselin and A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Christopher DuVal. Offering competitive salaries, housing and per diem while on tour.

Shakespeare in the Schools (in its 28th season) employs 8 actors for a 10-week fall season that includes rehearsals and a multi-state tour in Montana and northern Wyoming. We are particularly looking for actor/educators who have the experience, interest and ability to be effective teachers as well as actors. The play rehearses for three weeks starting in mid-September and then tours the region for a ten-week period ending in mid-December. The 2020 season will present Much Ado About Nothing. Offering competitive salaries, housing and per diem while on tour.

Montana Shakes! (in its 11th season) employs 4 actors for a 12-week spring season that includes rehearsals and a multi-state tour in Montana and northern Wyoming. We are particularly looking for actor/educators who have the experience, interest and ability to be effective teachers as well as actors. The play rehearses for two weeks starting in late-January and then tours the region until early May. The 2020 season will present an adaptation of Two Gentlemen of Verona. Offering competitive salaries, housing and per diem while on tour.
