Climate Change Theatre Action 2019

Pay: No Pay

Description:

Climate Change Theatre Action - Chicago seeks actors for an international festival of short plays and other curated artistic experiences on the evenings of November 22 & 23, and the afternoon of November 24, at The Martin in Wicker Park.

Climate Change Theatre Action (CCTA) is a worldwide series of readings and performances of short climate change plays presented biennially in support of the United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP meetings).

CCTA 2019 is a collaboration between NoPassport Theatre Alliance and the Arctic Cycle. This Chicago production is produced by Iris Sowlat, Athanasia Sawicz, and Switchboard Ensemble.

The evening will feature 8-10 short plays that explore the topic of Climate Change and its effects all over the world. The plays feature characters who represent a diverse range of backgrounds, nationalities, races, ages, genders, abilities, and experiences.

There will be around 1-3 rehearsals per short play, determined by the schedules of the director and cast. While we hope to pay artists a small stipend out of proceeds, depending on ticket sales, please consider this a 'pro bono' project in the service of a great cause!

In addition, we are also seeking performances from musicians, poets, and other performance artists, as well as visual art to include in the festival. If you have a performance skill or piece of visual art you would like to showcase, please let us know.
