Open auditions for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a holiday comedy by Barbara Robinson, will be held on Monday, October 7th, and Tuesday, October 8th, beginning at 6:30 pm. The auditions will take place in PM&L Theatre's Tribute Hall, located at 877 Main Street in Antioch, IL. There will be callbacks on Wednesday, October 9th, if needed.

The director, Adam Armstrong (PM&L directing credits include Treasure Island and People vs. Friar Lawrence) is looking to cast 6 women (stage ages 30-60), 3 men (stage ages 20-50), and, at least, 17 children. Children must be at least two years old by audition date to be considered.

Actors should be prepared for cold readings from the script. A 1-2 minute monologue or scripture reading is encouraged. Copies of the scenes being used for auditions will be held at the Children's Desk in the Antioch Public Library (757 N. Main Street, Antioch, IL). All actors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the script ahead of time.

In this hilarious holiday classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the most awful kids in history: The Herdmans. You won't believe the mayhem - and the fun - when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on. This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling Young Adult book by Barbara Robinson, and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States, The play features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas carols, and a lot of laughs!

Time Commitment:

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will run for two weekends - Fridays (evening), Saturdays (matinee and evening), and Sundays (matinee) - beginning December 13th and closing December 22nd.
