Black Owned Chicago in partnership with Victory Gardens Theatre is seeking submissions for their third annual Black Monologues, directed by Deanna Reed-Foster. Black Monologues is a showcase of monologues about the African American experience centered around specific themes.

This year, Black Monologues will take place on Saturday, November 23rd at 3pm at Victory Gardens Theater as a part of Black Beauty Fest 2019. We are seeking submissions from African American performers of all ages, genders, types to perform from monologue selections surrounding the themes of family, church, spirituality, queerness, grief or loss.

For this edition, the director has pre-selected the collection of monologues that will be used for the showcase. Auditions will consist of preparing one of these selected monologues.

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals will be scheduled based on actor's availability. Actors must be available on Saturday, November 23rd (the day of the event) from 12pm-5pm.
