The Trance, a Chicago performance ensemble now entering its second season, announces auditions for male actors for its fall offering: The Third Richard.
Auditions for The Third Richard will be held at The Edge Theatre, located at 5451 N. Broadway in Chicago, IL on Sunday, September 15th from 1-5 p.m. Callback auditions will be held from 7:30-9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 16th.
The Trance is seeking male actors of various ages and ethnicities. Applicants must be over the age of 18. The Third Richard surveys the life and legacy of Richard III seeking to move beyond the myth to find the man that inspired Shakespeare's famous play. Playwright John Kirk, founder of the Department of Theatre at Illinois State University, provides a unique vantage point for audiences as Richard is brought to "trial" by Shakespeare and all those intimate to Richard in his life.
Performance and Audition Location: The Edge Theatre, 5451 N. Broadway, Chicago, IL
Compensation: Performers will receive a performance stipend of $500 and a $50 travel allowance.
Performances: Friday December 13, Saturday December 14 and Sunday December 16, 2019.
Rehearsals: Rehearsals begin November 4th as called during the following days and times: Monday-Thursday 7:30-10:30 p.m. and Sundays from 2-5 p.m.

Please bring a headshot, resume, and be prepared to present two contrasting monologues one of which should be Shakespeare. Audition time slots are 5 minutes in length. If called back, you will be given sides to read for the call back.
