Flash Radio Theatre - Season 2

The women of seemingly idyllic Morning Glory, Iowa deal with the events of everyday life during the Great Depression as the world braces itself for the conflicts and shifting values of the coming era.

Flash Radio Theatre, Season 2 is a podcast of short original radio plays. Non-union, female-identifying actors will be read for sixteen roles. There are no male roles.

Auditions will take place at The Vagabond School, 4001 N. Ravenswood, on Saturday, August 3 from noon until 3:00 pm. Actors will be asked to bring one headshot and resume to the audition and to deliver one minute (approx. 250 words) of prepared verse, in English. The piece need not be memorized. Recorded auditions will be accepted, but preference will be for actors who audition in person. When submitting please specify preferred hour: noon to 1, 1 to 2, or 2 to 3.

Actors who are cast will be paid $40 for one three-hour rehearsal/recording session to be scheduled during the Labor Day Weekend. Actors will be given material before the session to prepare prior to recording, but material need not be memorized. Actors may be cast for more than one session. The narrator has been cast.

Casting will be based on vocal quality and ability to bring characters to life through language. All artists will be considered upon that basis, and actors of ages, races, and gender identities are encouraged to attend.
