Beverly Theatre Guild is holding auditions for a non-equity production of Urinetown happening this fall. All roles are unpaid.

Seeking all roles. Actors of all ethnicities, gender identities, and actors with disabilities are encouraged to submit.

All auditions are by appointment only, please pay close attention to the audition location when signing up for slot.

Callbacks will be held Saturday, July 20th from 10am-2pm at Morgan Park Academy (2153 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60643). Actors who are called back should come prepared to dance, read, and sing.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS WITH AGE/VOCAL RANGE:

The Rebels/Poor
Bobby Strong (20-30, A2-C5): Idealistic and inspired, falls hard for Hope.

Hope Cladwell (20-30, A3-A5): Wants to make the world a better place, discovers her love for Bobby.

Little Sally (16+, A3-E5): Quasi-narrator and irreverent child character, can be played by an older person but needs to read much "younger" on stage.

Hot Blades Harry (16+, A2-F4): Unhinged and unapologetic.

Soupy Sue (16+, Bb3-B4): Excitable and quick to panic.

Little Becky Two-Shoes (16+, Bb3-F5): Foul-mouthed and impulsive

Tiny Tom (16+): Takes pretty much everything literally.

Josephine "Ma" Strong (40+, Bb3-D5): A strong willed person with a bit of bite. Bobby's mother.

Joseph "Old Man" Strong (40+): A rebel through and through, ready to take a stand, no matter the consequence. Bobby's father.

Robby the Stockfish (16+): Often believes they are two steps ahead, but is usually one step behind.

Billy Boy Bill (16+): Easily worked up and quick to join in the fray.

UGC Staff and others:
Caldwell B. Cladwell (40-60, A2-G4): Tyrannical and ruthlessly effective leader of Urine Good Company. Hope's father.

Mr. McQueen (18+, B2-E4): Sycophantic assistant to Caldwell.

Mrs. Millenium (16+): UGC staff member bent on moving up in the company.

Dr. Billeaux (16+, A3-E3): Head of R&D, though no one is quite sure what they do.

Penelope Pennywise (40-upper 50's, A3-C6): A no-nonsense businessperson whose had to make some tough decisions.

Senator Fipp (30+, C#3-F4): A corrupt politician with a cowardly streak.

Officer Lockstock (40+, A2-A4): A quintessential B-movie cop personality. Our narrator.

Officer Barrel (20+, G2-F4): Lockstock's trusty sidekick and admirer.

Ensemble of Rebels/UGC Staff (16+)

Time Commitment:

Rehearsals are 3 days a week, beginning on or about the week of August 12th, generally Sunday afternoon and Monday/Tuesday evenings. Between 13-16 rehearsal hours per week (except for tech/dress week).
Tech week: Oct. 6-10th
Performances: Oct. 11-13th

**All rehearsals and performances will take place at Morgan Park Academy (2153 W 111th St, Chicago, IL 60643)

Material To Prepare:

32 bar cut of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided.
Please bring a headshot and resume to the audition and plan to arrive 15 mins early to fill out paperwork/conflict sheet.
