Underscore Theatre Company
Notes and Letters Workshop

Pay: Stipend

Description:

Notes and Letters tells the story of Williams Custom Pianos, a piano carpentry shop in Chicago that housed four inexplicably interwoven stories during World War I. When the war hits the US hard, business, relationships, and moral codes are put to the test. Set to a jazz-contemporary score with only pianos to accompany, Notes and Letters is the journey of four young friends to find an even beat in a world where the meter is constantly shifting.

Role: Nora Duchek (early 30s) is a headstrong, sarcastic, career-driven woman with a deep sense of loyalty to her best friend Olivia, her boyfriend, Charlie, and his business (a piano shop), which she wants to help him run. Strong jazz chops (G3-E5).
