MPAACT announces auditions for the remount of Jeff-nominated Mother of the Dark Water, directed by Lauren Wells, for a limited performance series during "Nights out in the Park" (October 25-27).
SYNOPSIS: Inspired by original images of the Black Madonna, five black women decide to reclaim their truth and voices in the normative feminist movement. Based on personal stories, original poetry and movement, Mother of the Dark Water celebrates the power of speaking out, resistance and self-love.
CASTING BREAKDOWN
WOMEN:
2 roles being cast; African American, 20-40, moves well
OTHER INFORMATION:
-Once your audition request has been received, you will be sent a confirmation and sides to prepare
-Rehearsals will begin mid-September
-Performances: October 25, 26, and 27
-These will be PAID performances; no rehearsal pay
