A Surprise Musical
An hour long original musical written as a surprise birthday present. It's about a woman wanting a cat and having to overcome her evil step-husband to get one. We've withheld the names of some of the characters and the story details to help maintain the secrecy.

CHARACTERS
Female Lead (Lead): 20's to early 30's/open ethnicity/female/She wants a cat. Sweet, sensitive, quirky, and very passionate. Married to Male Lead. Dance experience a plus.

Male Lead (Lead): Late 20's to late 30's/open ethnicity/male/Male Lead doesn't want a cat. Practical, busy body, focused on all the wrong things, but loves Female Lead dearly.

Old Male Lead (Supporting/Narrator): Age 65+/open ethnicity/male/Older version of Male Lead commenting on he and Female Lead's life together and looking back sweetly on their story. This role won't need to sing for auditions.

The Cat (Supporting): Any age/open ethnicity/male/ The Cat is a cat with confidence issues and frankly, a lot other problems. This role will involve singing.

Unni (Supporting) Any age/open ethnicity/any gender/Norwegian Forest cat, tough cat, Norwegian accent is preferred.

Alter-Ego Cat (Supporting): Any age/open ethnicity/Male/ Alter-Ego Cat is the new confident version of The Cat.

Old Female Lead (Supporting): Age 65+/open ethnicity/female/Old Female Lead is the same as Jessica and will have one scene. This role won't need to sing for auditions.

Audition Location: Old Town on Saturday March 23rd and Boystown/Buena Park area on Tuesday March 26th.

Payment: None, except a small stipend for the 2 lead roles.
