Village Theatre Guild is holding auditions for Luna Gale by Rebecca Gilman.

Roles:
4 women, 3 men

CAROLINE: Social Worker:(50s-60) Caroline would like to save the world and has spent her career trying. Five years from early retirement, "Career Burn Out" has set in. She is a personally driven woman with qualities of warmth. She has personal baggage that has influenced her decisions in life.

KARLIE: Daughter of Cindy and Mother of Luna Gale: (19 or young 20s) She is a lost soul and a totally damaged young woman. She's addicted to "Meth" that conflicts with her love for her daughter, Luna Gale.

PETER: Karlie's Boyfriend and Father of Luna Gale:(19 or young 20s) He is addicted to "Meth" that conflicts with his love for his daughter and also for Karlie. He must come across with an inner strength however in his quest to regain custody of Luna Gale from Cindy, Karlie's mother.

CINDY: Mother of Karlie and Grandmother to Luna Gale. (40s) An Evangelical Christian, who has accepted Jesus into her world. She is dedicated to her spiritual beliefs and wants everyone to share it. She is seeking custody of Luna Gale.

LOURDES: Young woman (19-20s) who was separated from her sister and placed in the foster care system as a child. As an emancipated minor, Lourdes is now forced to make her own decisions. Caroline is proud of Lourdes and her prospects for college. She has a quest to save this girl. Lourdes is in two scenes but a very important character to the message of the play.

CLIFF: Director of DHS and Caroline's boss: (40s) Cliff is the new administrator making the case management decisions - however he has his own challenging issues that play out in the show.

PASTOR JAY: Evangelical Pastor of Cindy's church. (40s-50s) Pastor Jay gets totally involved in the lives of his parishioners - especially in Cindy's life as she fights for custody of Luna Gale.

Auditions will be held at 2S720 Park Blvd. (at Butterfield Road)

Time Commitment:

Performance dates (weekends) May 24-June 15

Material To Prepare:

Auditions will consist of readings from the play. (sides available on website: www.villagetheatreguild.org)
