Description:

Windy City Performs, Chicago's fastest growing professional theatre and conservatory, announces adult auditions for our Summer 2019 Mainstage production, BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL.

Non-Equity. The cast will feature paid, professional adults alongside auditioned Youth and Teens. The show will be directed by Charlotte Drover.

AUDITION DATES:
Thurs, January 24, slots between 4pm & 9pm and Saturday, January 26, appointments only between 3pm & 8pm. No walk-ups, please.

LOCATION: 4766 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago 60630 (2 blocks from the Blue Line Jeff Park station)

ADULT ROLES AVAILABLE:

Dad: Billy's stoic father. A widowed miner struggling with maintaining a household in lieu of a work strike, he is still deeply scarred by the death of his wife.
Age: 35 to 45
Vocal range top: Eb4 | Vocal range bottom: A2

Mrs. Wilkinson: The local ballet teacher who eventually becomes Billy's mentor. Hardened and mouthy, she actually has capacity for caring when she sees promise in Billy.
Age: 40 to 50
Vocal range top: Bb5 | Vocal range bottom: Gb3

Tony: Billy's brother. A passionate miner. Hotheaded and scrappy. He openly shares his disapproval of dance.
Age: 18 to 25
Vocal range top: F4 | Vocal range bottom: D3

Grandma: Billy's grandmother. She is forgetful and a little aloof. She harbors a bitter resentment towards her dead abusive husband but has found solace through dance.
Age: 60 to 75
Vocal range top: F#4 | Vocal range bottom: F#3

ENSEMBLE
Miners (incl. Big Davey, George, Lesley) - Strong dancers
Various Adults - Cameo Roles and Ensemble (incl Mum, Mr. Braithwaite and others); all strong dancers, as everyone will be used in the ensemble.

Adult actors are paid a stipend of $450-550 for rehearsals and performances.

Time Commitment:

-Rehearsals begin June 2, 2019
-Weekly rehearsals: Sundays, 4pm-9pm; Tuesdays, 6pm-10pm; Thursdays, 6pm-10pm
-Tech Week: August 4-August 9 (every evening)
-Performances: Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays beginning August 10 thru Sept 7. (No shows on Sun, Sept 1 or Sept 8; one Thursday 7pm show, Aug 29)

Material To Prepare:

We will email you sides and music by January 15. There will be a dance call, so dress appropriately.
