Loot

Description:

The Riverfront Playhouse will hold open auditions for Loot by Joe Orton on Sunday and Monday Dec 16 & 17 at 7:00pm at the Riverfront Playhouse, 11-13 S Water Street Mall, Aurora, IL 60505.

About the show:
Loot is a madcap and occasionally outrageous romp that centers around a bank robbery and bank robbers' increasingly desperate attempts to hide their ill-gotten gains, including inside a casket. When first produced in London in the mid-60's, it was a tremendous box office hit. Subsequent productions throughout the years have been just as successful. The life and career of playwright Joe Orton - who was murdered in his mid-30's -- was the subject of the movie Prick Up Your Ears, which starred Gary Oldman and Alfred Molina.

Director Gary Puckett is looking to cast a total of 5 men and 1 woman for the show. The men range in age from early 20's to late 50's. The woman should be approximately 30. He is also looking for persons who would be interested in working backstage or assisting with the technical aspects of the production, including set building, costumes, props, etc.

Time Commitment:

Loot will open at the Riverfront Playhouse on January 18 and run Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm until February 23.

Material To Prepare:

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Head shots and resumes are not required.
