The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre located in Conway, Arkansas, seeks actors for its 2019 summer repertory season: The Comedy of Errors, Guys and Dolls, Macbeth, and a "Family Shakespeare" adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.
AST is casting all roles for the summer season and actors of all ages and ethnicities are encouraged to submit. All actors will be expected to appear in at least two of the four summer rep shows, either two Shakespeares or one Shakespeare and one musical, so comfort in both arenas is nice.
AST operates under the U/RTA Tier 1 AEA contract. Equity EPAs will be held on Tuesday, December 18 from 10 am to 6 pm. Non-equity auditions will be held on Wednesday, December 19 from 10 am to 6 pm. Both days will take place at the Actor's Equity Member Center in Chicago, 557 W. Randolph St.
Actors will be in residence in Conway from May 14 - July 7, 2018. Housing will be provided.
Actors should prepare either two contrasting classical monologues (at least one of which should be from Shakespeare) OR one Shakespeare monologue and sixteen bars of a song in order to be considered for the musical. An accompanist will be provided.
