Description:

Edge of the Wood Theatre, 6736 N Loleta Avenue, Chicago, announces auditions for its Resident Theatre production of THE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE by William Saroyan, directed by Shawn Douglass. Mr. Douglass is a director, actor, educator, and a company member with Remy Bumppo Theatre Company. Auditions held on September 18 and 20 from 7-9pm in the Edgebrook Community Church on the far northwest side.

AVAILABLE ROLES

Jonah Webster 50's/60's, male, any ethnicity. Large hearted and a friend to all.

Owen Webster, male actor who can play 15, any ethnicity. Precocious, imaginative, generous.

Agnes Webster, female actor who can play 18, any ethnicity. Beautiful. Intensely sensitive.

William Prim, 40's/50's, male, any ethnicity. As his name suggests.

Dan Hillboy, 50's/60's, male, any ethnicity. Lonely, sad, poetic.

Father Hogan, 50's/60's, male, Caucasian. The truest shepherd a flock could ask for.

Harold Webster, 19, plays the cornet, any ethnicity.

Time Commitment:

First rehearsal February 11. Rehearsals run Monday-Wednesday evenings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Performances March 22-31, 2019.

Material To Prepare:

One or two monologues of your choice, no more than three minutes total.
