point2productions is a division of Schaumburg On Stage, a theater production company with a 20 year history of producing high quality theater throughout the Northwest Suburbs. point2productions was created in 2017 as a community theater division featuring actors ages 18 and older. This year we will be producing Urinetown at the intimate 80 seat Elgin Art Showcase from July 19 to July 22nd.
Seeking 6 men and 7 women, plus possible extra ensemble members.
Auditions will be held on May 19th from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on May 20th from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. with callbacks on May 21st by invitation only from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
All auditions and rehearsals will be at the Schaumburg On Stage Studio at 1925 Wright Blvd. in Schaumburg, Il 60193. Time Committment: Sunday 5 to 9 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Additional rehearsals may be added as needed. This is a community theater project, so no pay is offered.
There will be a short dance combination taught in small groups, please wear dance shoes and comfortable clothing.
Prepare a 32 bar selection of music. It is highly recommended that you chose a comedic or character song for your audition to fit with the style of the show. An accompanist will be provided or you may sing a cappella. Your audition song does not need to be from Urinetown, but should be of the musical theater genre.
