Seeking two external understudies for Haven Theatre Chicago's
The Displaced, a world premiere by Isaac Gomez, directed by Jo Cattell.
** Please note, weekday daytime rehearsals. **
MARISA
Mid 20's. Female-identified Latinx. Freelance actress in the city. Practical. Rational. Resourceful. Highly emotional but she'll never admit to it. Doesn't like to mess around with things outside of this world.
LEV
Mid 20's. Male-identified African-American. Marisa's boyfriend. Has a day job working for Restaurant Beatrix but is also a painter. Strong-willed. Mood swings. Sticks to deepest convictions. Charming and alluring. Indecisive. Wants to learn more about the world and the people in it.
Pay: $100 stipend, to be paid at closing.
One guaranteed understudy performance.
Understudy Requirements:
-Present during approximately 1 rehearsal per week. Present during full runs of the show - Stage Management will be in contact to schedule.
-Available and present during Tech, Previews and Opening Night, and to see the show once per week, following opening.
-Available and ready to go on for all planned performances, beginning with 1st preview.
-One guaranteed performance for each understudy.
Rehearsals beginning April 23rd, 2018
(Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday daytimes 10am - 4pm; likely no rehearsal on Monday, April 30th)
Tech beginning May 26th
Previews beginning May 31st
Run June 8th through July 1st, 2018
Thursday thru Saturday evening performances; Sunday matinees
*** 4 - 5 performances per week
*** Monday industry performances on June 11th and June 25th
