Description:

Pride Films and Plays seeks submissions for the Chicago premiere of Corinne J. Kawecki's "The Days Are Shorter" directed by Iris Sowlat. This production is Jeff-eligible and will perform in the Buena at Pride Arts Center from May 8 - June 3, 2018.

Synopsis:
Despite 53-year-old Julia's attempts to recapture her youth, her body keeps reminding her of her advancing years, causing both Julia's mind and body to unravel to the point of a nightmare beyond her control. Julia is forced to choose how she must deal with this unraveling. This play is about coming to terms with different stages in one's life, accepting chaos, and choosing self-love.

Seeking submissions from female-identified actors of all ethnicities for the following roles:

-Julia: 50s. She feels her life unraveling and spinning out of control. This is her journey to gain control through acceptance of the chaos.

-Pax: 50s. Julia's ex-partner. She's confident, in control, comfortable with making a large life decision.

-Treat: 20s. Julia's partner. A magician. Flighty, but sure of herself. Eager. Doesn't care that she's much younger than Julia. She has the world at her fingertips.
